For this edition of Throwback Thursday we have the Pan’s Snood. The Pan’s Snood was designed to celebrate the launch of Garnsurr’s Pan when it arrived at Knit With Attitude. This luscious and interesting blend is perfect for little accessories and one skein projects.
Pan is an earthy blend of 70% Buck Moahir and 30% Dala sheep. All hand dyed by the women of Garnsurr. A social integration project for refugee women in Norway. The colours range from dark, rich and earthy to lighter vibrant tones, the women’s own cultural heritage often result in surprising combinations but always with a beautiful result. The amazing quality of a hand dyed yarn on a more unusual base than the merino we are so used to seeing. A plump 3-plied sport weight yarn with a rustic hand and an incredible sheen due to the long buck mohair fibres. It blooms beautifully adding a softness to stitches and details.
‘With the Pan’s Snood I wanted something to evoke Pan, the god of the wild, of woodlands and nature. A criss-crossing pattern of slipped stitches and yarn over eyelets repeat across the entire piece. Like the dense woodland canopy, letting dappled light through tree branches. These stitches are all softened by the blooming of the yarn, creating a magic undulating texture perfect for wearing around your next as you walk through the autumn woods’ – George
We have 25 gorgeous colours in Pan so get inspired and find some wizardry in these enchanting hand dyed colours and conjure up your own version of Pan’s Snood.
The Pan’s Snood is a perfect one skein project and so we haven’t made up any kits, encouraging you to find your own personal favourite. Therefore our Throwback Thursday offer this week is this – if your order contains one or more hanks of Pan, we will throw in the pattern for free!!! As always, the offer lasts until tomorrow Friday October 18th midnight UK time.
