This is part two to the second edition of Recommended Yarn, to read part one follow this link: Second Edition Part One.

The theme for the Recommended Yarn series is to look at what is new and knitted up in the yarns we stock. You can check out Recommended Yarn – Part one and Part Two with those links. My criteria for the first two was only to look at designs that had been published in the first 6 months of the year. So with all the following Recommended Yarn posts I shall look at designs that have been published since the last posts. The first two were published in July looking at the first six months of the year, so these next ones are looking at designs published from July to October. Again there are quite a few so I am splitting them over two posts. I used Ravelry for my pattern searches and all pattern links will go to the result on Ravelry. It has been a fun way of searching though the patterns by typing the yarn brand in the search field and organising the results by publication date. Let’s see what I found.

Pagosa Rose Tee by Catherine Zoller. This light top is knit from the bottom up in a simple drop shoulder shape. Short rows help shape the back and front. A contrast mosaic stitch band runs along the top adding detail to this simple summery top.

The Fibre Co. Meadow is a light lace weight blend of wool, lama, silk and linen. A great yarn for summer projects or light flowing shawls.

Jetty Cardigan by Cheryl Toy. The crisp shape of this cardigan looks great with its high collar either buttoned or open. Knitted from the top down and featuring a wavy cable that runs down the front bands.

The Fibre Co. Cumbria Fingering has the same great fibre blend and colours as the worsted but in a lighter 4ply version.

Falmouth Harbour Hat by Comfort Road Knits. This deep brimmed classic cabled hat has some dramatic cables running over it. I like that the cable shrinks and disappears into the crown while still keeping its shape. All you need is one skein of Cumbria.

The Fibre Co. Cumbria is a beautiful blend of merino, masham and mohair. It comes in a range of rich jewel like colours.

Stone Island Socks by Jupiter Lily Designs. Socks Yeah is such great yarn for showcasing amazing detail in textural and cabled stitches. Twisted stitches and a flower lace motif make these socks look fun to knit.

Coopknits Socks Yeah! is one of my go to sock yarns, a reliable blend of merino and nylon its not only for socks but any project where you need a bit of strength.

Cozy Twist Socks by Camille Heng. A simple cable repeat covers the top half of these quick to knit DK socks. Knit from the top down with a contrasting heel flaps and toes. I like the rolled contrast colour stripe that starts off the cuff.

Coopknits Socks Yeah! DK like the 4ply is a great sturdy merino and nylon blend.

Galanta by Carol Feller. This top has multiple ways to knit it. Choose it with sleeves as a full jumper or without like the vest shown here in the picture. Knit in the round from the bottom up with a split hem. A faux cable stitch pattern is worked around the bottom and is echoed on the shoulders.

Stolen Stitches Nua Worsted is a linen, yak and wool blend. Soft with a great texture owing to the edition of the linen.

All Stripes Sweater (DK) by Sylvia Watts-Cherry. This fun jumper is knit using multiple stripes in different colours. Garter stitch blends the colour changes together giving a softer transition between stripes. Worked in the round from the top down with easy drop shoulders.

&Make DK is a wool, alpaca and linen blend, soft and great for garments and accessories, the touch of linen makes this a great springtime or autumn yarn.

Trail Finder Cowl by Kari-Helene Rane. A cosy cowl done in an aran weight yarn is not only quick to knit but also warm to wear. Large bands of knits and purls give some minimal texture to this easy cowl that is knit in just two balls.

&Make Aran is a blend of super soft alpaca and strong Highland wool. A fabulously soft and squishy yarn.
