The Leather Notions Zip from Thread & Maple has arrived at Knit With Attitude and we are in love with this handily sized and well made leather pouch.

These pouches are made in Ukraine from beautifully soft Crazy Horse Leather. Crazy Horse Leather is the same high grade full grain cowhide leather that is used in saddle making. This leather is rubbed and waxed meaning over time it will develop a lovely patina. We have them in three colours Denim, Teal and Whiskey and they measure L – 19cm, W – 13cm, D – 4.5cm.

I really like that they have two zippers allowing you to open and close it from any angle. The zips also open right to the base meaning the pouch can open wide enough so you can easily access everything inside. The clever inclusion of two pieces of leather that expands at the bottom of the zip means your bits and pieces won’t fall out.

Just because it is small doesn’t mean it can’t hold everything you might need in your project bag. This pouch would make a great storage solution to pack up and pop in your knitting bag with everything you need for a certain project. Inside this one I have managed to fit. A Zing 80cm Circular Needles, Hey Mama Wolf Wool Soap, Cocoknits Yarn Snips, Barber Stitch Holder Cords, Floops Flox, two Gleem Embroidery Threads, Twig and Horn Stitch Markers and a ball of Hélène Magnússon Love Story Einband.

As you can see it is surprisingly roomy and looks extremely elegant with its leather tassel zip pulls. It feels extremely well made and what we have come to expect from Thread and Maple. I think this little Notions Zip will become a valuable part of your knitting collection and will not only last but will become better and better with age.
