Have you noticed the window display recently? I try to change it up every now and again and have decided to embrace the Pantone Colour of the year which is Magenta. You can read more about that in this blog post.

Hanging in the window is a beautiful magenta, purple and grey version of Tamdou by Melanie Berg. This asymmetrical shawl features a simple combination of garter stitch stripes, lattice lace and picot edging. Worked from the small point and increasing to the longest edge. This produces a striking shawl with texture and a dynamic play between colours. You can find the pattern on ravelry.

Tamdou is knit in three skeins of the Fibre CO Cumbria Fingering in three different colours. The version in our window uses the colours Scafell Pike, Cowberry and Castlerigg.

Cumbria is a beautiful blend of Masham, Merino and mohair. Its smoothly twisted and plump, bouncy but still with definition. Adding great detail to textural stitches. The Merino gives softness, wool from the English Masham sheep ives a heathered colour and Argentinian mohair for strength and lustre. Its a yarn that will create beautiful garments as well as warm accessories like the Tamdou. We also have it in a Worsted Weight.
