I am smitten with the new Ditty Bags that have landed at Knit With Attitude. They are the perfect little bags for little adventures. Even though they are small you can fit a surprising amount inside.

If you haven’t seen them yet our brand new Ditty Bags are the cutest new offerings to the KWA Collection. This small bag doesn’t lack in space and is perfect for projects on the go. Made from the sturdy cotton canvas offcuts which are left over from making the larger KWA bags. Not only does this help reduce waste by using every last scrap of fabric, but it also means that each Ditty Bag is unique. So I thought I would take you on a tour as I pack mine up for my next outing:

Most bags in the collection are unique so we have grouped them by colour theme roughly by the most predominant colour. The bag you receive may not be the one pictured and there may be some overlapping of colours between the categories. But of course they all feature the Knit With Attitude logo and have the same white cord drawstring. This one above is from the Greens and Yellows collection which has a selection of greens, ochres, yellows, greys and browns.

So let’s start right at the centre of the bag. A roomy inner pocket that measures 16cm wide and 24cm deep. A double lined base gives the bag structure. Here I am filling it up with a little swatch project I’m working on. I’ve got two 50g hanks of Pickles Økologisk Bomull. A few little odd balls and my swatch and the needles it is on. The bag has plenty of room for your small projects like socks, hats, gloves and even small shawls.

What I love about these bags is its simple closure. A long cord is held in place by a metal spring clasp. Pull it tight and the contents are safe and sound. Another benefit from this type of drawstring closure is you can use the bag as a yarn bowl. Pull the tail of your yarn through the closed top and pop your bag on the floor or table and your ball of yarn is out of harms way and not going to roll away from you.

Now to load up my outer pockets. There are two, one that wraps around the front side of the bag and one that wraps around the back. They are the full width of the bag and 14cm deep. Great for all sorts of bits and pieces. I’m popping in a spare set of Circular Needles and my KWA Bent Tip Tapestry Needles on this side.

On this side there is plenty of room to take a handy box of Cocoknits Opening Stitch Markers and a tin of Stitch Holder Cords.

Now I’m all set for some out and about knitting. I think I have prepared for every eventuality. Some spare yarn, my project, a spare set of needles for swatching, tapestry needles for weaving in the ends, stitch markers for marking my place and some stitch holder cords if I need to move my work off my needle. There still room for a little bit more if I find something while I’m out and about.
Happy wandering!
