This post will show off the last two patterns for the Knit With Attitude Book. Which is now available for pre-order and we now have an official publication date – 14th November! You may have seen the teaser pics going out on social media over the past couple of days but with these blog posts I will take a little bit more of a look at the patterns inside.

This book celebrates 10 years of Knit With Attitude and features designs from 12 designers. All responding to the theme of Attitude. The designers are: Fiona Alice, May Linn Bang, Renée Callahan, Isa Catepillán, George A Cullen, Julie Dubreux, Francesca Hughes, Eli Leistad, Noma Ndlovu, Natalie Selles, Susanne Sommer and Karie Westermann.
This post I will look at the designs from Natalie Selles and Fiona Alice.

Junction Road by Natalie Selles
Natalie’s shawl uses a clever construction technique as well as combining interesting fibres. First you start with a bold central panel, featuring chevron stripes and a criss-cross lace. Stitches are then picked up from the sides and two long narrow panels are knit outwards. This creates a shawl that is long enough to wrap around you but not get too bulky. It also offers a fun play between multidirectional stripes.
Knit in a combination of Fyberspates Vivacious 4ply and Fyberspates Cumulus. Vivacious is a soft, hand dyed 100% merino yarn with a good twist and structure. It lends itself to a multitude of projects but performs well over lace and gives crisp definition to garter stitch. Cumulus is a baby Suri Alpaca and silk blend. This lace weight yarn is a great alternative to a mohair silk. Natalies sample uses Vivacious 4ply in Strawberry and Bliss and Cumulus in Raindrop.

Ashfield Socks by Fiona Alice
The fun intarsia technique used in Fiona’s design was created to minimise long floats and give an interesting new skill to learn. Knit from the toe up and written for the magic loop method, with gusset increases and a heel flap. A simple sock made for having fun with colour combinations and great for stash diving for the contrast colour dashes.
Knit in a combination of Garnsurr Søkke Merino and Hedgehog Fibres Twist Sock which are both sturdy 4ply sock yarns. There are almost endless possible combinations out there.
