We continue the preview posts for the Knit With Attitude Book. Which is now available for pre-order. You may have seen the teaser pics going out on social media over the past couple of days but with these blog posts I will take a little bit more of a look at the patterns inside.

This post I will look at the designs from Francesca Hughes and Noma Ndlovu.
Palomar Cardigan by Francesca Hughes
This textural lacey cardigan has knit and purl texture combined with yarn-over eyelets and cables, it has it all! Making it an interesting knit and a great layering piece. The ‘barrel’ pattern is worked over a small set of repeats to create an easy to remember rhythmic design. Worked in the round from the bottom up then separated at the underarm and worked separately. Shoulders are joined with a 3-needled cast off and sleeves are picked up and worked in the round down from the body. Stitches are picked up for the front bands and then a neckband is added last. Finish off with your favourite buttons.
Knit in John Arbon Devonia 4ply. This yarn is an interesting blend of 3 UK sheep breeds which all roam around John Arbon’s Devon based mill. This yarn has a slight halo which brings a gentle softness to the cables which I really like. There are some gorgeous colours within the range. Francesca knit her sample in the Cinder Glow colour.
Mpho Sweater by Noma Ndlovu
Cable lovers rejoice with this design. A fully cabled body is offset by simple stocking knit sleeves. This contrast really heightens the cabled body which is a riot of chevrons and honeycomb cables. Worked bottom up and in the round and then worked flat from the underarm up. Short rows shape the shoulder and wide crew neck make this jumper look great over a shirt. Sleeves are knit in the round and picked up from drop shoulders.
Knit in Kettle Yarn Islington DK which is a luxurious blend of silk and Blue Faced Leicester wool. The silk content in this yarn gives it a glow that catches the edges of the cables beautifully. Noma knit her sample in the colour Blighty.
