Sway Shawl by Anna Nikipirowicz – Sway is a ‘soft-as-a-sweet-dream’ crochet shawl – designed by Anna Nikipirowicz combining the much loved fibre blends commonly used by most handdyers a Merino 4Ply yarn and a Kid Silk Lace yarn. The body is worked in stripes and front post stitches resulting in gorgeous texture. The lace border only in Kid Silk, giving it an open and airy feel.
Sway is a beautiful shawl that starts at the top in the centre, expanding into triangular shape and ending with gentle lace. The way the shawl is worked causes the centre of the shawl to sway, well lean to one side, but sway sounds better as a name. The whole triangular goodness is finished off with playful tassels.
Crocheted with a winning combination of hand dyed lace weight mohair and a handed 4ply. It has to be our speckled favourites Hedgehog Fibres Kidsilk Lace paired with Hedgehog Fibres Twist Sock or Garnsurr Søkke Merino. The three kits we have on offer are (from left to right):
- Aurora – 1x 100g HHF Twist Sock Cedar and 2x 50g HHF Kid Silk Lace Beach Bunny
- Heat – 1x 100g Garnsurr Søkke Merino Nuperose, 2x 50g HHF Kid Silk Lace Sorbet

A pretty 24 row pattern repeat brings together multiple textural and shaping stitches. Knit in the round, leaf shapes tesselate together created by a combination of garter stitch, yarn overs and left leaning and right leaning decreases.
With just one skien of From the Mountain Afghan Cashmere this pattern is designed to make the most of this sumptuous yarn.
