Yes I’m surrounded by the amazing yarns and accessories of Knit With Attitude everyday and my favourite things change all the time! But this is my current wish list of both products and potential projects I want to knit over the festive period.

I’m hoping to get a bit of knitting time done both while travelling over Christmas and in between all the eating and drinking the season brings. I think my hands might be free for a bit of gentle crafting. Here is my list of things I would like be working on and a few things I have had my eye on in the shop lately.

I kept seeing these adverts for small hipster hats popping up on my instagram and I really wanted one. So being an adventurous knitter I thought I could make one myself. I had some Pickles Pure Wool left in my stash from when I made the Copenhagen Building Blocks blanket earlier in the year. I searched Ravelry and found Red Wing by Meghan Babin which had the perfect ribbed structure I was looking for. It knit up super quick and I made it a tad shorter than what the pattern calls for, for that hipster look. I love it. I now want to make another one and it will be the perfect project to work on over Christmas.
The colour I have my eye on is Daglilje a deep orangey red. Pure Wool is a 4ply 100% pure new which has a good twist and nice crisp feeling. It makes the ribbed texture look so perfect it is ideal for this pattern. My hat took less than 50g so I will be able to get two hats from this ball. Knit on 3mm needle the 2×2 rib is mindless and great for a time of year when you might get easily distracted.

London Wool is both on my wish list and on my knit list. This is our third delivery of this yarn since we introduced it at the beginning of November. You can’t get enough of it and for good reason. The sheep from London city farms go into this undyed base which comes in two natural shades, ecru and natural brown. Consequently because it doesn’t hang around for long I have not knit anything in it yet, nor do we have a swatch knitted up for the shop. So my mission is to swatch and have a play.
I have dabbled in mending a few holes in some fabric and a pair of trousers but I think I would like to do more and be a bit more adventurous about my mends. This book has various darning and mending methods that not only enhance both knitted textiles and fabric ones but also prolong their life. Also I feel just flicking through Visible Mending by Arounna Khounnoraj is inspiring entertainment in its own right.

Also on my list are the Gleem Lace Embroidery Threads. I have so many bits of yarn but having a dedicated selection of mending yarns would be great and who can resist the fun hand dyed colours.
I’ve been meaning to get a couple of these Protective Scent Bags to put in my yarn stash. I have two plastic crates at home which I try (and fail) to be disciplined about how much yarn I have. But I want to pop in a couple of these bags, not only because they smell nice but because of their moth prevention potential. So they are definitely on my list.

I’m always of the mindset of if I see good buttons I get them. You never know when they might be useful and a box full of buttons is a small joy. They make such a thoughtful small gift, I will never say no to buttons. These Matt khaki metal buttons are totally in my colour range
